Rangers activate Harden for Monday start

Harden has been sidelined since a 2 1/3-inning start against the Athletics on August 7. He was dealing with right shoulder tendinitis after recovering from a left gluteal muscle strain and comes into the game 4-4 with a 5.45 earned- run average in 15 starts this season.

Catcher Matt Treanor was also activated from the DL after suffering a strained posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on July 23. Texas' starting backstop has hit .225 with five home runs and 23 RBI in 64 games this season

To make room on the roster, the club optioned catcher Taylor Teagarden to Triple-A Oklahoma City and placed pitcher Scott Feldman on the 15-day DL, retroactive to August 22.

Teagarden owns a meager .143 batting average in 21 games with the big club this year, while Feldman experienced a bone bruise in his right knee in a relief appearance on Saturday. The right-hander has gone 6-9 with a 5.43 ERA in 25 games -- 20 starts -- for Texas this season.
